Kern Winery

Kern Winery was established in 2012, aiming to create a connection between the future and the past of wine production, combining tradition with nature and technology. Our plan is to revive traditional and almost forgotten grape varieties with the most advanced and favourable processes.

We bought our first territories in Balatonszőlős (Öreghegy, Penke vineyard), and the rest of it in Tokaj-Hegyalja (Tarcal-Mandulás vineyard, Bakony vineyard) with our center in Tarcal.

We make champagne using traditional methods at both wine regions.

Our main varieties in Balatonszőlős include Italian Riesling, Pinot Gris, Zenit and Zweigelt. In Tokaj we make Furmint, Muscat Lunel, Hárslevelű, along with traditional Tokaj grape varieties like Zéta, Kabar and Kövérszőlő.

We offer a wide range of white, rose and sparkling wine options, which give an excellent introduction for two of the biggest white wine producing areas of Hungary. Our products from Balatonszőlős are mineral, widely acceptable, elegant, balanced with pleasent acids.
