A magyar és angol feliratos előadásban Angel Blue először énekli a Metben a rabszolgasorba vetett etióp hercegnő, Aida szerepét, az operairodalom egyik leghíresebb hősnőjét. Külön öröm a magyar nézők számára, hogy újra láthatjuk a mezzoszoprán Kutasi Juditot, aki Aida úrnőjét és szerelmi riválisát, Amneris egyiptomi hercegnőt alakítja. Mindkettőjük szerelme, Radames hadvezér szerepét pedig a Met utóbbi éveinek egyik legnagyobb tenor sztárja, a lengyel Piotr Beczała kapta meg. Az all-star gárdában Quinn Kelsey bariton is szerepel Amonasro etióp király megformálójaként, valamint Morris Robinson mint Ramfis egyiptomi főpap. Michael Mayer látványos új színrevitele vetített hátterekkel és káprázatos animációkkal viszi el a közönséget az ókori Egyiptom piramisai és aranyozott sírkamrái közé. A karmesteri pódiumon Yannick Nézet-Séguin, a Met zenei igazgatója áll.
